nice to see you again.

i know, i've really neglected my little blog. my reason? i was in a funk. have you ever been in a funk? i don't like them. the thing is i know exactly what caused it, i just can't do anything about it, yet. i've been really sick. not the kind that puts you in the hospital or anything, but the kind that is on going. in a nutshell i've been sick to my stomach and nauseous for since january. i've gone to the doctor and he's trying to help me find out what it is. so i'm keeping my fingers crossed. if it's a food allergy like glutton i will be the most depressed person ever ha ha. but there it is. and i'm pushing myself out of my funk. yay!

I truly have such a wonderful mom. I don't know how I could get through life without her. She has always been so supportive and helpful. All the tough times in my life she has been right there cheeing me on. She is a great example in every aspect of life and has taught me so much about being a woman. I was blessed to not only have a great mom but a best friend that I could confide in at all times. Pretty much, she totally rocks. :)

For Mother's Day we had a wonderful sunny Sunday picnic. We packed up our basket after church and headed to Idaho Falls to pick up our Aunt Sherri. The weather was perfect and we just enjoyed each others company. Bronte (my pup) was in heaven just playing in the sunshine for hours and having so many new things to check out. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. :)

Summer is here. It's official. Every year there seems to be a moment where it all of a sudden is summer. I start feeling extremely excited and happy. Also I feel this huge urge to dance and sing and skip and jump. I love it :) It can come on in different ways. Sometimes it's going to the nursery with my mom to pick out seeds and flowers, others it's going to get a snow cone. What brought it on this year was a couple of things. First off I went to a bonfire on Friday night. In my mind bonfires=summer. The second, which really set it in stone, was an amazing Sunday afternoon bike ride with my sister (on our awesome beach cruisers). I'm seriously freaking out right now (in a very good way). I LOVE SUMMER!

I have been so busy lately. Wow I don't know the last time I said that (and sarcastically doesn't count). As mentioned in my last post I recently got a job (I now smell like Mexican food fifty percent of the time, fun!) and I just started a new semester on Tuesday. I'm not used to this! It does feel so great to actually be doing something with my life now though, I just need to adjust accordingly. I am super excited for this semester though. I finally changed my major to something I think I will love. It will be challenging but I will actually want to do the homework (which is necessary). And I got a brand new 15 inch Macbook Pro, can I just say it is beautiful and I have been staying up later than I should because I hate putting it away for the night. So here's to a new semester!

Oh and I finally caved and tried using a tripod and self timer. My sister isn't home when I need her here to take pictures. Yeah, I found it just as difficult as I thought it would be. Any tips?

let's go to vegas!

Yes, I went on yet another trip. This was quite an unexpected trip for two reasons. One, the decision was made to go on Friday and we left Saturday. Two, my dad was the one who made the decision and let's just say he isn't the most spontaneous person. We started our journey Saturday. After a stop in Ogden for dinner at my uncles restaurant Steiny's (which I would highly recommend) and to drop my pup off at our wonderful dog sitters we made it to our first night's stay in South Jordan. Sunday after church we headed to Bryce Canyon National Park, so beautiful. Monday was a looonnnnng day (note the extra letters to exaggerate). We started out taking a hike into the canyon at Bryce. Bad idea for me. My fear of heights was reaffirmed. Times ten. To the point that I couldn't breathe and didn't think I could move my legs for a couple minutes. Yeah, it was bad. But I survived! :) After our hike we drove on over to Zion's National Park. Awe inspiring, breath taking, beauty. Next stop, St. George to see our dear friend brother Bobby. (see Monday was long!) Tuesday we reached our final destination...Vegas Baby! Most of the day we spent on the strip and that night we saw The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. Oh my goodness, so great! Wednesday was the end of our trip and was full of driving and left over Easter candy. (Oh we stopped in Marsh Valley on our way back and there were horses....at the gas pumps, it made me chuckle)

P.S. I promise to have an outfit post soon (tomorrow?) I recently got a job (hurray!) and I've been working almost every day. And trust me my work clothes aren't that fabulous. But I start school soon, and I have to wear clothes there :)
